Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and an afternoon game drive
A professional English-speaking driver guide from Chopper Tour and Travel will pick you up from a hotel in Kampala and transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. The drive will take about 4 to 5 hours, and you will have a stop at the Equator Monument in Kayabwe for photos and souvenirs. After the picture moment at the equator, you will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, you will check into a lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go out for an afternoon game drive. Lake Mburo is known for its rich wildlife, where you can spot zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, and many more. You will return to the lodge after the game drive. In the evening, you will have dinner and then go to bed.

Day 2: Walking Safari and a Boat Cruise
After breakfast, you will embark on a guided walking safari. Lake Mburo allows visitors to explore on foot with an armed ranger. You will notice animal tracks and experience the landscape up close. You will have views of giraffes, zebras, impalas and many more. Your guide will interpret the ecosystem, explaining plant species and animal behaviour. After the walking safari, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will head out for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will be able to spot hippos, Nile crocodiles and several birds like the fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, herons and African jacanas. The boat cruise lasts about two hours and offers both wildlife viewing and eye-catching scenery. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge and have some rest. Later, you will have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return to Kampala
You will rise very early in the morning, and after breakfast, you will go for a briefing before setting off for a morning game drive. Early hours often reward you with numerous wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities. You may spot hyenas, giraffes, zebras and many more. Lake Mburo is also home to over 350 recorded bird species. You may come across the African fish eagle, bare-faced go-away bird, red-faced barbet and numerous weavers.
After the game drive, the guide will drive you back to the lodge for lunch before checking out. After checking out, you will set off to Kampala, arriving in the evening. You will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice.
